tcpl Guess what? I got really lucky today and found an old copy of “The C Programming Language” AKA “K&R” in the 65 pesos ($1.41) bin of National Bookstore! And it’s priced at 30 pesos ($0.65). I grabbed it quickly securing it in my arms and now it’s mine! All mine! My  very own copy! Mwahahaha!

I’ve been wondering if a student version of the book is available here in the Philippines and now I got my answer. I was really excited seeing the familiar cover. I was so excited that I couldn’t resist reading the introduction at the bus on the way home.

I still have to finish learning Python first but still it’s a good addition to my collection of unread books.

The books looks very old and it has quite a few creases. The quality of the paper is cheap but what would you expect, it’s a student edition. Well here in the Philippines the student edition of famous books are printed on cheapo gray recycled paper. The text is decent and it looks like the text on my grade school books.

I can’t believe that _the_ book for programming is this thin. The reviewers really meant it when they said concise.

I really want to read it some time in the future to see what the fuss is all about.

Next time I’ll be hunting for SICP.

  • What’s this about?

This is another personal blog which means topics range from anything that I can think of or want to write.

I mostly write about my struggles about learning how to program and finding a job. Also when I feel like it I write long posts about my rants and ramblings about my life. All in one big paragraph. Don't say I didn't warn you.

About the kansas state thing, it's actually a misheard lyric from a certain song I like. Try to guess what song. :)

    Happy reading!
