It came to me. One of the reasons why it’s a little hard for me to learn to program is because I’m learning from e-books. Not that it’s not possible learning from e-books, it’s just inconvenient learning from them. My eyes hurt after reading for ours on the screen and so is my head.
There’s just this good feeling flipping the pages and touching the paper. I can’t really explain it but for me learning from physical books is way better.
Take for example the book K&R which I bought for just 65 cents. I can’t stop myself from looking at it and flipping through the pages and reading bits and pieces from it. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me but there’s no way e-books could replace physical books.

It’s not just you, usability experts have been saying the same bad things about eBooks since (at least) 1998. Printing stuff out should help, because even a cheap printer has better resolution then a new monitor. Used books may end up being a better deal per page, then printing stuff yourself. Fundamentals don’t become obsolete.
Good luck!
